Introduction

TypeStyler is an application developed by Strider Software. TypeStyler and PiXELS3D can be used in conjunction to create absolutely stunning scenes. TypeStyler enables the user to create text that looks wavy or jagged in a minimal amount of steps. The application includes a series of pre-defined shapes that blocks of text can adhere to. This tutorial will teach the user how to use TypeStyler in conjunction with PiXELS3D.

This tutorial requires:

Pixels3D | studio | v3.5 or greater

Adobe Illustrator | v8.0 or greater

TypeStyler | v3.5 or greater <http://www.typestyler.com>

 

 
Download & Open TypeStyler
Download TypeStyler which can be tested for 60 days. TypeStyler can be downloaded from http://www.typestyler.com. After downloading TypeStyler, run the installer. After running the installer open the application and use it for a few minutes to get used to interface. The interface is quite intuitive.
Create a Block of Text
 
Create a block of text by choosing the text tool and dragging the cursor to create a bounding box. After you have done this type in a message and optionally apply an effect. TypeStyler has some impressive effects already built in. You have to option to customize these effects.
Importing the Text Into PiXELS3D
 
In TypeStyler, export your document as an Illustrator file. You can do this by choosing export under the file menu. PiXELS3D is unable to import this file so you must open the Illustrator file you just created in Adobe Illustrator and export it as a newer format such as v8.0. TypeStyler exports its Illustrator files in and older format.
