Modeling organic forms, especially realistic human figures has always been a goal, perhaps even the Grail of 3D modeling. PiXELS3D Studio has the powerful tools necessary to successfully achieve this goal. In this tutorial you will learn one approach to modeling a realistic human torso.

Launch PiXELS3D Studio.
Click on the word Camera in the upper left corner of the Camera window. This will bring up the View Options dialogue. Make sure the Shaded Preview Option is checked, then click the Drawing Optionsƒbutton. Under the Selected Objects column click the check boxes to turn on Hull, Surface, CVs and Center. Under Unselected objects, turn on Surface.

Hit Return twice to close the Drawing Options and View Options dialogues.

Select Shape>Cylinder in the Tool Bar, type Torso into the Name field in the Cylinder Options dialogue and hit the Return key to accept the defaults.

Choose Windows>Object Infoƒ or hit Command-I to open the Object Info panel. Click on the X Rotation field to highlight it , type 90 and hit the Enter key. Next select Control>Park to zero out Torso at its new orientation.

Select Reshape>Pinch and pinch the appropriate V-steps of Torso until it looks approximately like Figure 1.
