The Wrap Tool
The Wrap tool provides the ability to reshape a spline or mesh so that it lies on the surface of another object. The object you are deforming is called the "Wrap Spline" or the "Wrap Mesh". The surface that you want it to wrap around is called the "Target Object" (which actually may be more than one object). And finally there is a "Direction Spline" or "Direction Mesh" which allows you to control how the wrap object is projected onto the target object(s).
To use the Wrap tool:

- Create a direction spline or mesh and position it on one side or inside of the target object(s).
- Duplicate the direction spline or mesh, and move the copy to the other side of the object. This will be the wrap spline or mesh. (Wrap and direction meshes must have the same number of U steps and V steps, and wrap and direction splines must have the same number of control vertices. If you use the duplicate command this will always be so.)
- With the wrap spline or mesh still selected, Command-Shift select the direction spline or mesh. Be careful not to select the Camera, the Center-of-interest, or any Lights. If you have trouble selecting the objects you want from the Top, Front, or Right view windows, try using the Schematic view.
- Command-Shift select any number of target objects.
- Click Reshape>Wrap in the tool palette.
- If the wrap and direction objects are splines, you will see the Wrap Options dialog box:

If "Create trim surface" is not checked, the wrap spline will be projected onto the target object, and the target object will be unaffected. If it is checked, you will see an additional pair of radio buttons from which you may choose. If "Cut out shape" is selected, then the wrap spline will be used to cut a hole in the target object. If "Retain shape" is selected
