Layers are also now
imported with PiXELS3D objects.
Adaptive Anti-aliasing
For the highest image quality, each pixel of a fully rendered image must
represent the average color over the entire area of the scene covered
by that pixel. To do this, PiXELS3D samples the color at more than one
point within the pixel, and computes the average color. This is called
super-sampling. However the more samples, the longer the rendering time,
so it is important to use the minimum number of samples necessary for
each pixel to get the desired image quality. To provide you with the best
balance of image quality and fast render time, PiXELS3D now has the ability
to automatically adjust the number of samples used in each pixel of the
image according to the amount of contrast in the image at that pixel.
This is called adaptive anti-aliasing. To give you control of this, the
Anti-alias Sample Rate parameter
in the Render Setup dialog box now
has Max and Min
settings.
